Attack of the Hashtag
News broke that Warner Bros. is being called on to replace James Gunn as the head of DC Films. The news came as a shock to many, especially considering the success of Gunn’s previous films, such as “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Suicide Squad.” The #FireJamesGunn began to trend with the news that Wonder Woman III has been shelved in its current form.
At this point, it’s unclear what Warner Bros. will do, but it’s clear that some fans are not happy with the prospect of Gunn being replaced. The counter hashtag #WeStandWithJamesGunn soon followed. Only time will tell how this situation will play out.
